In March a group from The Arts Society Bath went by train on a day trip to Southampton.
We were led on a very interesting walk around the old part of the city by Blue Badge

our understanding of what we were seeing. It encompassed the medieval walls and buildings,
links to Jane Austen, SeaCity Museum [includes Titanic exhibition], the City Art
Gallery and of course the modern shopping centre. A surprising amount of the medieval

The day was very successful and everyone enjoyed it so we will hope to organise a similar event in 2019.
Following our successful trip to London to see ‘The Dresser', this year we had tickets to see the sumptuous ‘The King and I’ at London Palladium. Our group travelled by train and enjoyed a meal together before returning home. We are arranging another theatre trip this season, members who wouldn’t otherwise go to the theatre in London enjoy this group outing.
Our February 2019 lecturer Jonathan Foyle will talk to us about “Windsor: The Greatest Castle in the World” and we are planning to follow this up with a day trip to the Castle (information to follow so watch this space!)
